Stallion

Stallion is a range of high colour strength inks formulated for the high speed flexographic and gravure printing of treated polyethylene and co-extruded polypropylene films. These inks will find end uses on rice bags, bread bags and paper wrappings. This system was developed from the Multistar ink system and is higher in pigmentation to obtain higher colour strengths.

Reducer

The normal reducers for Stallion inks are Meths and Ester blends. Dowanol may be used as a retarder.

Meths: Ester Blends

Viscosity

Colours : 40-45 Sec Zahn #2 @ 25ºC
Print : 25-35 Sec Zahn #2 @ 25ºC

Colour Range

A full range of pigments are available in the Stallion Range, which, may be limited by selection for specific applications.

They are of reasonable light fastness but may not be suitable for extended exposure to direct sunlight. If requirements for more resistant pigments are needed, these should be stated at the time of ordering.

BCF

These inks have been formulated in accordance with the recommendation of the British Coatings Federation.

Waste disposal

Care should be exercised in the disposal of printing ink waste. This should be carried out in accordance with good industrial practice observing all the appropriate regulations including the relevant guideline notes to the Environment Conservation Act and Regulations (73/1989).
